A severe storm with lightning and heavy rain swept New Jersey causing extensive damage across Warren county. Homes, churches, and businesses suffered fires and losses, with power lines and telegraph networks disrupted. At least one fatality reported as severe floods and wind toppled barns, trees, and structures, while trolley lines and street traffic were heavily affected.
