Fragmentary OCR text references Newtun Bid Easton and GND Ciofad with scattered names and places. Lacks coherent events or clear entities beyond vague geographic hints. No definite person, organization, or date can be confirmed from the fragment.

A Curious Plant From Tropical America

A renowned botanist notes a strange plant from tropical America, the tamarind or similar riverbank flora, and its bizarre effects on nonruminant animals. It can cause horses to lose hair on manes and tails, sicken mules and donkeys, and reduce cattle to a scavenged state, though some animals are unaffected. Hair regrowth after feeding on corn and grass may differ in color and texture. In the Batamus, the plant is grown as a fodder fence, while sheep and goats may benefit from its growth. One animal reportedly wore boots and was kept in slings as the hair regrew.

Warnings For the Wise on Virtue and Law
