Rain dampened the mood as John F Reynolds Post No 6 G A R led a drum corps to Washington cemetery to lay flowers on about sixty graves. Sixteen girls anointed the fallen, with a similar service at Catholic cemetery for three veterans. A visiting delegation of fifteen members from Bartis Post joined local ceremonies, drawing praise from Brooklyn volunteers for their tribute to the men of the previous year.
