Alleger Clock Plant Sold to Harrington Firm
Harris Harrington of New York has bought the Alleger clock factory on Broad street in Washington from H W Alleger Co. The new owners plan March 16 transfer and immediate improvements, including a new brick building and reorganization of machinery. About thirty workers will start, with many from the old Easton plant. some will transfer to New York operations. The Washington plant will produce fancy hall clocks and mantel clocks with London movements, while New York handles most cases. The deal follows earlier efforts to relocate due to space and market constraints. J Edward Davis of Washington Manufacturing Co. aided negotiations, and Mr Lundy of Boston assisted. Allegers expect to remove all instruments by March 15.

Great Pall of Snow Strikes Warran County and New York
A severe Monday snowstorm swept Warran County and major cities, burying Paterson under twelve inches and Atlantic City under twenty, closing ports and halting trains. New York City faced twelve inches of snow, with rail and streetcar service crippled and thousands idle. Washington saw nine inches, while long island reported heavy drifting and widespread travel disruption. The storm disrupted crossings, delayed court proceedings in Warren County, and caused accidents as workers tried to clear debris and restore traffic.

Legal Battle Over a Horse in Asbury
A convoluted dispute in Asbury centers on a horse tied to debt. Jerry Holl, a Black man, owed John Hoyward of Washington over $100. A white woman, Mrs Boll, claimed ownership of the horse, denying the debt payment arrangement. After failed attempts to settle, a court case moved to the Supreme Court, where the plaintiff prevailed on all points and the horse was ordered sold. Damages for selling the animal and ongoing action against Holl were noted. Blocked town plans for railroad improvements and park transportation were debunked by President Truesdale. A local horse sale ad from Asbury invites bids on a shipment from Bedard County with a large stock of horses and drivers for sale.
