Bank Directors' Duty Neglect Cited as Bank Failures Cause
Philadelphia reports the Pennsylvania Bankers Association convening for its twelfth annual meeting with William Reading delivering the opening address and Comptroller Ridgely warning that bank failures result from director negligence. He stresses directors must seek full knowledge of bank affairs to prevent robberies or frauds and uphold trust, noting only exceptionally talented individuals become bank wreckers and that directors share criminal responsibility when they fail to supervise officers. L P Hillyer of Macon later spoke on Bankers as Patriots.
