Teachers Seek Septembers Pay Amid School Law Clash

Washington public school teachers contend the September salary should be paid from the start of the fiscal year under pro rata rules. Last Year’s Engineering Class to Expand Board of Engineers Path

Last year’s engineering cohort produced several eligible for the board of engineers, with incentives for many to pursue the field. The program will broaden to admit more, offering instruction in electrical machinery, pipe work, shelter and engine repairs, and general machine shop practice. A business course for high school entrants includes shorthand, typewriting, and English at the Armstrong. Stevens Garnet and Randall graded schools provide elementary schooling plus cooking, dressmaking, and renovating. Principals will issue admission tickets at each building tonight and tomorrow from 7 to 7:30. A meeting of all colored teachers is set at Armstrong School tomorrow at 10.

Freshmen Parade at George Washington University

First year men, garbed in bizarre costumes and tied with ropes, were paraded through the streets by sophomores who drove a handcart. The Freshies’ Annual Parade left participants hungry and tired, but game, with one honored freshman enjoying the ride. They sang Oh How Green I Am under a flowered umbrella while being paddled for mischief.

Plead for Freedom Delusions Delay Hearing in Washington Case

In Washington District Supreme Court, Mrs. Carolyn Corbett and her daughter Cornelia Corbett, long residents of Alexandria, are committed to St Elizabeth's Asylum since June 194. The case, involving persecutory delusions and alleged habeas corpus, was postponed until witness Rev. Dr. Hamlin returns from Europe. Daniel Whalen and Samuel C. Stansbury were also committed. Whalen denied wireless telegraphy claims while Stansbury was deemed insane after wife testimony.

Prince George apartment house sold for investment

Stone and Fairfax sold the three story Prince George apartment house at 3813 Thirtieth Street to a local investor for 28000 for Francis Carmody who finished building in August. The eight unit building is fully occupied and regarded as a fine Georgetown property reflecting strong demand for such investments. Also noted is a postponed Knights Templars drill day at Friendship weather permitting. Citizens' Association fall meeting set for Monday at Hooganpl's Hall First and V Streets NW to elect officers.

Ford seeks nullification of 1904 marriage in Spencerville

John H. Ford petitioned the District Supreme Court to annul his marriage to Louisa Ross, dated October 4, 1904, in Spencerville Maryland. Edward Robinson, two dozen, who was reported cocaine poisoned, was detained at the Ninth precinct and sent to Washington Asylum Hospital in serious condition. Bridget Afurth's will, dated April 7, 1602, was probated naming daughters Mary J. Murth and Annie A. Murth as beneficiaries, with a $1000 bequest to son F. AM. B. Murth that he would forfeit if he contests.

Great Falls Tournament Crowned Beall Queen of Love and Beauty

Judge Kimball Returns to Hear Cook Family Assault Case

In a joint assault case Judge Kimball presided as Marla and Barah Cook accused Thomas Cool of brutal acts. Fatal head injury in Seattle man dies after assault

Thomas Chinn a forty year old Black man died at Emergency Hospital from a fractured skull after being struck on the head with a prick. George B Richardson, sixteen, was arrested, fined five dollars, sentence suspended, rearrested awaiting coroner inquest to be held today.

Prisoner Gives Two Names and Is Held on $300 Bail

An aged man arrested yesterday in Philadelphia at the Bellevue Stratford Hotel as a suspicious character gave the name Harold Morgen of Washington, D C, then John Waingalp of Conemaugh Pa. Held on $300 bail until he explains several mysterious checks, including a $1,000 draft signed by B P Berry of Washington. Family says they know nothing of Harold Morgan or Fond Winship. Checks drawn on Traders National Bank and Farmers and Mechanics Bank, plus others from Baltimore Washington and Alexandria, indicate a large number of blank checks found in his possession.

Young Hunter Wounded In Rifle Accident Near Cochran

A 13 year old Elmer Giddings suffered a flesh wound to the head when a .22 rifle carried by Ray Creasey discharged accidentally as they hunted near Cochran. Giddings, staying with the party, was not seriously hurt and was taken home.
