In Orange New Mexico on September 24 Maj Carl Lentz, defeated Republican boss, was appointed by Colby limited franchise committee to conduct the Colby campaign this fall. Supporters question the move, but reformers view it as strategic engineering to ensure the ticket’s defeat is not possible without proper consultation with Lentz as head of the committee.
