May Get Land for Taxes in Northwest District
Lewis C Wilson, acting District supervisor, recommended to the Commissioners that W. T. Grosa be allowed to buy back two lots 4 and 6 in the square bounded by L and M Streets northwest. The district bought the properties for back taxes. Payment with all unpaid taxes to date would be due within fifteen days, with no interest or advertising charges. Wilson estimates the tax averages about $1 to $1.50 annually and argues clearing twenty years of records is good administration. The district would lose little in interest and advertising costs.

Raid Brokers to Resume Work Amid Court Talks
Assistant District attorney Frank Perry learned brokers whose offices were raided are seeking legitimate ties with New York Stock Exchange members.
