Verdict Blames Atlantic Coast Line in Open Draw Tragedy
Norfolk juries find the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad negligent for assigning engineer S B Reig to the division he did not know. Reig testified the bridge draw was open on August 17 near Brusea Station, causing the Kinston Greenville excursion wreck that killed 17 and injured 50 or more. He said it was his first trip on the division and he did not know of the draw.
