Americans Raid Huns in Alsace

Mount Vernon Torpedo Loss Shocks Navy Officials

About 35 dead from the Mount Vernon torpedo strike off the French coast last Thursday. Senator James Hamilton Lewis of Illinois was among those landed safely. The ship, seized by the United States, was a troop transport returning to the United States and may be repaired for future use. Baker in France on indefinite stay with War Department party
