Growth of a church thirty years of pastorate observed

Rev Frederick D Power marked his twenty-ninth anniversary at Vermont Avenue Christian Church with a sermon on John 14 31. He urged larger religious experience and growth, recalling the church’s expansion from a small frame chapel to multiple tall city churches and a citywide following of about 2300 by today. He emphasized three needs to reach non churchgoers and to win souls: make worship accessible, personal outreach, and return to the old gospel.
