Serbia Accepts Antente Territorial Demands in Principle
Serbia reportedly drafted a reply to quadruple entente demands offering territorial concessions to Bulgaria while reserving a frontier in contact with Greece. Sofia states Bulgaria negotiates over Macedonia and the Gypsy line, seeks all Macedonia with aims to avoid war and betrayals, while Entente terms would require Turkish cession of strategic rail lines. Some observers say Bulgarian mood is cautious, awaiting a broader settlement amid Turkish resistance at Gallipoli. A separate London dispatch cites Grey opposing a punitive peace that would render Britain and France tributary to Germany, arguing such terms threaten civilization and national defense.
