Puzzle for illiterates imperils Anne Arundel ballot
Annapolis Md Sept 3 The official ballot in Anne Arundel County this fall will puzzle illiterate voters with fifteen county officer nominations and four full tickets two Democratic one Republican and one Prohibition making sixty names on the ticket plus three state comptroller nominations and a vote on a constitutional amendment about suffrage limits and roads There will be no party designation after candidates names increasing the chance of misreads and both Wells and anti Wells factions claim ballots may decide the election Two years ago fewer than 6000 ballots were counted here though more than 9000 voters were qualified Democrats say 1600 to 1800 votes could elect the ticket if Republicans cannot muster enough properly marked ballots
