Board of Education president Capt. Oyster rebuts inspector Ashford’s critique of Central High and Thompson schools as deplorable. Sightseeing car rules proposed by city officials

A police regulation aiming to curb sight-seeing cars was urged by Commissioner West after consultations with Maj Sylvester, Laure Kimball, and Corporation Counsel Thomas. The proposal forbids stopping at any one place longer than fifteen minutes except at a public stand or in front of the company office. It also limits operators to two offices in the city and bans more than one sightseeing machine in front of its office at engine time. Street improvements approved include carriageway resurfacing on Pennsylvania Avenue and a sewer in Prospect along Linesin avenue. Draftsman appointments for the District were confirmed, with Gilbert L. Rodier and Rose named permanent and temporary draftsmen respectively. An improved service notice from the Southern Railway to Washington is noted.
