Providence R I Oct 25 Lemuel A Dodge known along the Atlantic seaboard as Capt Lem committed death by his own hand today by leaping from the main deck of the bay steamer New Shoreham where he had served as captain. He fell into the water and died after being pulled from the bay. He had been a pilot from youth and was traveling to his Block Island home with his wife and son when the tragedy occurred.
