Public Printing Waste Under Review By Landis Panel
A House subcommittee led by Indiana's Landis opened hearings on nine years of public printing excess. Oscar J. Ricketts, Acting Public Printer, pushed for reform of the 1896 law and abolition of document reserve, citing up to 100000 dollars yearly in waste and numerous uncalled for reports and eulogies. The panel will reconvene to continue examining the document room practices and possible gains from revised methods.
