Presbyterians Find Day’s Pentateuch Views Unsatisfactory
Fresno Oct 22 After six hours of debate California and Nevada synod commissioners ruled Dr Thomas Franklin Day’s assertion that the Pentateuch was not written by Moses is unsatisfactory and incompatible with Presbyterian standards. The ruling concerns one of fourteen questions sent to Day, professor at San Francisco Theological Seminary, as part of an inquiry into his orthodoxy. Day’s supporters argue if Day is heretical then the church’s own volume by James Robertson may also be heretical.
