Forger Babbitt Arrested Over $60,000 in Forged Checks

Arthur C Babbitt a self described consulting engineer was arrested at the Hotel Navarra on charges of uttering forged checks on Capt William H Wheeler a retired army officer. A crowd of about 42,000 people at a Louisville department store sparked a stampede during a bargain sale when a cry about a bus on the floor led to chaos.
