Jasper Oct 13 Brundich former cashier of Peoples State Bank of Huntingburg tried to end his life by shooting himself. He and others connected with the bank were under arrest for perjury and accepting deposits after the bank was said to be in saving circumstances. Several officials, including Charles Behrens and Herman Hartman, were taken into custody on charges of making false reports to the State auditor as investigations widen.

In a dramatic long distance balloon flight, Aeronauts J C McCoy and Capt. Charles de Forest Chandler of the U S Signal Corps carried the Lahm Cup from St Louis through Illinois and Ohio toward West Virginia, landing near Redbud, Indiana.
