URGE CURREY St Louis Oct 1 Aft opposition the following rese adopted at the Currency Reform conference held here to day with the convention of the America Bankers Association Resolved That the several plans proposed and submitted to this currency conference be referred to the executive council of the American Bankers Association without recommendation That the council be requested to refer the plans and their subject matter back to committees to be known as the special legislative committee composed of members of this currency committee with one member from each State bankers association represented in the conference and members of the special committee of the Chamber of Commerce of New York City and a representative of trust companies with the incoming president of the American Bankers Association as its chairman That sale committee should meet at the Auditorium in Chicago on Tuesday November 2 1908 to consider the subjects referred and draft bill or bills for Congress in the next session Resolved That it is the sense of the conference that the present supply of currency is inadequate for the needs of our growing country That the currency is not sufficiently flexible to fill agricultural needs That certain changes in existing banking laws are necessary and expedient Congress be requested to pass laws to correct these conditions The meeting today was the eleventh annual assembly of the trust company section
