Mrs. 8. W. Gans of Fifth Street Northwest celebrated her eighty third birthday yesterday afternoon from three to six o clock. About five hundred callers, including relatives and close friends, offered congratulations. Flowers, telegrams and other presents were received. Relatives Rickie Gans and Isaac Gans joined her, with several local guests, while Mrs. Isaac Gans served chocolate and punch. Born in Germany, Mrs Gans came to America after marriage about fifty five years ago, lived in Baltimore twenty years, then moved to Washington where she has since resided. She remains in good health and active social life.
