Senator Gallinger Defends Tariff Stand and Reciprocity
Senator Gallinger of New Hampshire, in Washington for Senate office building talks, says no tariff revision in the coming session and that revenues may cover deficits. He criticizes broad reciprocity aims, noting only a few Massachusetts interests support it and that noncompeting products offer no gain. He sees no need for radical rail rate legislation but supports possible curbs on rebates and a court to hear rate disputes.
