Scullin's Peace Plan Attacked by Gompers Followers
P. J. Scullin promotes a National Industrial Peace Association in Washington but faces sharp opposition from Samuel Gompers and organized labor. Gompers calls Scullin's proposals absurd and warns that peace comes from power and preparation for conflict rather than committees. He accuses Scullin of misrepresenting labor and failing to present a viable plan.
