Excise Board Opens Hearings on 20 Liquor License Applicants
The excise board began hearings on twenty of 522 liquor license applicants under the Jones excise law. Hearings continue today with more cases, as attorneys face tight time limits to decide before November 1 and the new license year starts. Key disputes involve proximity to schools and churches, including challenges to premises near the George Washington Law School and Salvation Army headquarters.
