Dismissals Approved in District School Board Ruling

The board backed by its legal adviser ruled the dismissals of Mrs. A. J. Cooser, John L. Love, and James S. Clark were within the board's powers under the act. Assistant US Attorney Stuart McNamara said the act's sections do not bar dismissal when a teacher is under investigation and that the board's action is within its rights, with the welfare of all District students the paramount concern. He added that the act's protections apply only during trials or investigations. The meeting also covered garden funding, fish supply offers, staff appointments, transfers, leaves, and salary timing questions.
