Germans at Benning Farmers Win From Gunton
More than four thousand people attended a Benning event by the United German Societies of Washington marking the 220th anniversary of the first German landing in the United States. The Farmers edged Gunton in the interleague baseball game 5 to 0 after a tense afternoon of trots, hurdles, a high jump, and a cakewalk that ended with a fifth couple winning cake and a gold medal.
