Ruth Aims for $60,000 Salary Next Season
New York November 25 Babe Ruth has asked the Yankees to pay him $60,000 next season and his request reportedly has backing from Boss Ruth Huston and Jake Ruppert. Ruth earned $50,000 this year and would become the highest paid figure in baseball if granted. Other top salaries cited include Landis at $49,500 and Ban Johnson at $30,000. The Yankees’ financial success this year contributed to Ruth’s bargaining power as he helped draw big crowds and extra revenue.
