In Cleveland Ohio on November 7 twelve brave nuns and older boys fought a blaze at St Vincents Orphan Asylum housing about 400 children. A Lexington, Kentucky real estate broker, 42, was found murdered on the roof of a ten story office building in Oklahoma City. He had been attacked on the fourth floor and dragged to the roof with a rope found around his neck. Police note a missing $3600 drawn from a bank on Saturday. United States consul Samuel M Taylor reported to Washington that about 75 Pieda party rebels attacked the Lima presidential palace on a May afternoon. President Leguaia and his bodyguard were shot at and driven from the palace, then the mob dragged him through the streets to a Bolivar statue before demanding resignation. A detachment of soldiers charged the mob, dispersing them and restoring order. The president, braving danger, was later escorted back to the palace. his rooms were found riddled with bullets and his secretary wounded.
