President Roosevelts Grace Reformed Church Visit
A large audience gathered at Grace Reformed Church to hear Rev. J. M. Schick preach on the eve of the election. President Roosevelt, healthy and in good humor, sat with Mrs. Roosevelt, Alice Roosevelt, and Quentin in the front pew as Secret Service kept vigilant watch. Ushers controlled seating to keep the president among known associates, and a stray attendee was redirected to a rear pew to ensure an unobstructed view of the president. The sermon touched on the second coming and a hopeful, faith-filled future amid changing eras and trials.

Gallery Opens Sunday With 1200 Visitors to Corcoran Collection
Corcoran Gallery of Art drew more than 1300 visitors Sunday afternoon for the first Sunday exhibition of the season. Director McGuire and Assistant Director Minnigerode oversaw the event as 1:30 to 4:30 was opened to the public free of charge. The turnout was affected by voting absenteeism and fewer strangers in town. The First Baptist Church on Sixteenth and O reported the shortest sermon in Rev. Winbigler’s tenure due to a cold auditorium from a new heating system. He later spoke briefly on "No Vision" and the church expects full heating next Sunday. In Lowell Huntington Hall, a major fire caused about 750 dollars in losses, likely starting from a stage switchboard.
