Former inspector Snowden Ashford presented to the commissioners that total construction spending in the district reached 14 726 784 dollars for the year ending June 30 1909 with 28 000 buildings. Fireproofing of schools urged as building operations rose by 6 073 482 dollars from the prior year. Permits for erection and repair totaled 14 726 784 dollars, compared with 8 721 577 dollars the year before.
