Prohibition Push Links Brewers to War Effort and Fuel Saving
A wartime agitation piece argues prohibition saves grain coal and shipping for the war. It cites brewers using millions of bushels of grain and sugar, brewers and saloons consuming coal, and argues closing saloons would boost coal output and shipbuilding while freeing men for the front or farms. It quotes Billy Sunday Lloyd George and J H Kellogg, urging shutdown of breweries and saloons to win the war.
