A large blaze at the Buick Motor Company repair shop on Seventeenth Street Northwest destroyed 14 automobiles and caused total damage around 50 thousand dollars. An employee was injured lightly while others escaped. Mrs Champ Clark wife of the Speaker of the House signed the visitors register at Manual Training High School in Kansas City. She wrote occupation a servant's wife when asked to explain stating Mr Clark is a servant of the people. She later addressed students on the Self-Reliance of the American Boy and Girl.
Special to The Washington. Ogdensburg November 8. Four youths drowned when a creek ice ride failed at Netley Creek near St Louis Canada. Victims Melvin McNair 14 Eddie Kicknors Emma Setter and Veronica Berthold ages unknown. McNair owned a sleigh and dog team and invited companions onto the ice. the thin ice broke and rescue came too late.
Special to The Washington Post Durham NC Nov 3 Miss Couch, aged 16, died this afternoon from blood poisoning and a fractured skull after colliding with Thomas Shepherd, 17, during a ball game. Shepherd ran into Miss Couch, embedding his teeth in her forehead and breaking three teeth which were extracted after the impact. The incident occurred Tuesday and led to fatal complications.
