Byrne dies from injuries. cadets rally in sorrow as Army prepares for funeral at West Point Cemetery.
Special to The Washington Poet from Cumberland Maryland reports six Fairmont State Normal School and Davis and Elkins College students accused of hazing a rival girl after a football game. The victim was dragged from her dormitory to a bath, subjected to cold water, and painted with red chalk. a hazer’s picture allegedly broken as the act occurred.
Dr. William J Verwilliger and Robert Welch both of Brooklyn were killed instantly when an automobile they rode in was struck by a Long Beach bound passenger train at a crossing in Lynnbrook. Gilbert Rhodes of Milton, N. H. was fatally injured. The party, returning from Long Beach, appears to have tried to pass the crossing before the oncoming train.
