The trial resumes amid testimony about private detective Edward M Colbert and the peep hole scheme at 1708 P Street Northwest.

Defenses urged for trade combines at wholesale grocers meeting
Edgar Watkins urged legislation to let the Federal Trade Commission partner with business and rule on trade practices. He called for legalized ethics codes for trade associations and argued current antitrust law harms small enterprises. Watkins urged extending shipper and carrier suit rights and aligning filing times, while Francie Kemper pressed stricter credit practices in wholesale groceries. Members toured plants of American Sugar Refining and McCormick & Company in Baltimore after sessions.
