Anglo Saxon unity urged for world peace at Genoa talks

The Genoa era echoed in Hoover’s address as he urged Anglo American cooperation to rebuild Europe and secure lasting peace. He warned loans must fund productive efforts, not military spending, and called for restraint on budgets and inflation while pursuing a gold standard with credits or gold loans. James R. Howard pressed farmers’ interests, argued Europe is the key market for U.S. surpluses, and warned against tariff walls. The convention also announced directors and laid the cornerstone of the new Chamber of Commerce building.
