Mother Causes Her Arrest for Forgery and Theft
Magee Strother a 27 year old negro woman of 911 Third street southwest was arrested yesterday by Central Office Detectives on the complaint of her mother Mary Strother. Police allege she forged her mother's name to checks and borrowed over 150 dollars from several loan offices around the city. The largest claimed loan was 350 dollars on her mother's house at 311 Third street southwest secured from a real estate broker under the pretense of acting as her mother. She says she got about 150 dollars from the broker with the rest sent as interest. She adds she has since borrowed from other loan concerns to pay the interest.
