Seek to Secure License Home Fire Company's Case Argued
The case before District Commissioner Macfarland argued that a mutual fire insurance company can be incorporated under the District code. Henry E. Davis and Home Fire Insurance Company directors contended the superintendent should issue a license upon a valid incorporation certificate, while opposing views questioned the recorder of deeds authority and potential need for mandamus if denied. The Commissioner said he would consider the matter with the other Commissioners after a lengthy discussion with Corporation Counsel and company officials.
