Bill aims to tax stored property and sightseeing cars
A proposed Congress bill, drafted by personal tax appraisers, would tax stored personal property in District warehouses at six percent of gross receipts and require sightseeing auto firms to obtain franchises and post bonds. The measure seeks to tax articles stored when owners are away, shifting the burden to storage firms and tying transit operators into tax collection.
