Taxation Bill Aims to Tax Stored Personal Property
A proposed Congress bill would tax stored personal property in the District, with storage firms paying 6 percent of gross receipts. It also requires sightseeing car operators to secure franchises and post bonds to secure tax payments, aligning them with street railways. The measure targets residents who store furniture while away and claims to boost District revenue.
