Delegates Nominate Bishop Brent Amid Heated Prep Talks
The convention's seconding of Rev George Fiske Dudley’s nomination of Bishop Brent sparked debate as delegates push for brevity in nominating addresses. Dr Pages urged concise remarks to help unfamiliar delegates judge candidates, while other clerics defended Brent’s fitness and the church’s needs. A broader slate of nominations followed, including Rev Dr Grosvenor and Rev Edward S Dunlap, with credentials committees named and motions to raise funds discussed.
