Steel Pavement Trial in Paris Aims Durability and Good Horse Footing
Paris tests steel reinforced concrete pavement on Rue Saint Martin before the Conservatoire of Arts and Industries. The Rose and the Rich Shape a Florist’s Truth

Dog Joins Master in Death in Wisconsin Will
The life of Chris the dog, owned by Alvira Alien, ended after his master died. Under a peculiar will provision, the dog lay in state on the porch of 1927 Fourth Avenue as the master’s body rested in a Wisconsin town. Police then directed the burial of the dog per the deceased’s wishes. For years the pair were constant companions, and the man had provided that upon his death the dog be euthanized. Family members carried out the wishes.
