Washingtons third annual horse show opens with record entries
The Washington horse show begins Saturday at Eighteenth and D streets NW with 730 entries across 76 events and prize money over 6000. Officials like Col. Robert M. Thompson and Gen. Leonard Wood expect the event to be the largest outdoor horse show in the United States outside Madison Square Garden. An auction sale of about 100 horses follows the four day program ending May 7.
