Market in New Phase Daheer-in Continued Rise

New York markets last week moved into a more speculative phase with broader gains and rising risk. Analysts note persistent underlying business strength, but warn that sustained advances rely on continued buying by professionals and that profit taking could follow. Copper prices firmed, spring farming accelerated western activity, while iron and steel orders cooled and railroads trimmed staff as earnings lagged. Supreme Court decisions on rail rate cases sparked optimism about federal restraint on state laws, offsetting disappointment over anticipated anti trust reforms.

The plea appeals to Macfarland and other civic leaders to protect both groups.
