Concession to Georgetown Defines Ash Dumping Limits

After years of agitation Georgetown will receive relief from ashes and street sweepings along Rock Creek. Engineer Douglas and Supt. District Finds No Responsibility for Daley Horse Loss

Acting Corporation Counsel Thomas reports the District of Columbia was not negligent in Lieut. John C. Daley’s horse loss. Daley sought 165 dollars after his horse was kicked by a patrol horse at the Ninth precinct stable and later shot. Thomas says if Daley had right to use the stable, the District’s liability hinges on gross negligence, which is not shown. He notes Daley knew the horse risk and assumed it by keeping the animal there. The report adverse to Daley’s claim accompanies the broader update.
