In Albana New York March 28 a hearing on the Equitable Life Mutualization plan was postponed for a week by State Insurance Superintendent Hendricks despite a strong protest from Thomas Spratt Ogdensburg representing local policy holders. Spratt urged a clean sweep of management and immediate mutualization, while supporters wished to vote thirteen new directors yearly and extend proxies for long paying policy holders. The postponement followed talks between the Crimmins committee and the company as both sides sought a compromise, with Spratt insisting on no delay or partial action.
