Delays in Supreme Court Trust Case Highlights Two Week Recess
The Supreme Court adjourned for a two week recess without ruling on key matters including the Standard Oil and Tobacco Corporation dissolutions. Crowds gathered in Washington as lawyers and patrons awaited judgments while 28 hour livestock transit penalties were debated. Justices Lamar delivered the court's unanimous opinion on the stock shipment unit, and a separate ruling involved the Eastern Cherokee fund, with disputes over distribution timing and records. The Globe Printing Company libel appeal from Missouri was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction.
