WEW Place for Gen Brush Commands Department of the Columbia
Brig Gen Daniel H Brush promoted on February 18 to relieve Gen Davis and assigned to command the Department of the Columbia with headquarters at Vancouver Barracks. He previously led the Twenty fourth Infantry in the Philippines and returned to the United States with that regiment. From the Family Doctor, Dr W B Tom claims that 99 percent of reflex or neuralgic headaches stem from ocular defects based on 1.30 eye examinations. Over 600 patients were unaware of their defect, with many cases involving slight refractive errors or muscular imbalance and accommodative asthenopia as a direct factor in headaches for near vision workers. The link between headache severity and defect degree is not evident.
