Mandate sought in Harriman v Northern Securities case
Supreme Court heard application for mandate following a favorable ruling for the Northern Securities Company. William P Clough argued the mandate should issue to prevent $5 000 000 in property from being tied up by a New Jersey injunction and to avoid injustice. Maxwell Evarts urged waiting for the court's full opinion to allow rehearing. The court took the matter under advisement after directing the applicant's motion to be printed.
