White House musicales honor Washington officials and guests

About 200 guests from official and resident circles attended the second White House musicale hosted by President and Mrs. Wilson. The evening featured a varied program with Weber, Herodiade songs, Mozart trio, and performances by Carolyn Beebe, Gustave Langenus, Jacques Renard, and Louis Graveure, followed by a buffet supper in the state dining room. The event also noted guests including Col. Harts and Mrs. Rose of Geneva, and Mrs. Bolling, with several diplomatic representatives in attendance. A death in Indiana prompted postponement of planned dinners for the Russian and British ambassadors, while the Brazilian ambassador hosted a birthday supper for the Vice President and Mrs. Marshall, featuring a cake, candles, and a Hawaiian orchestra.
