How to Make Nominations Under New Primary Law

The Montgomery County Republicans face a dilemma on nominations this summer under Crawford county rules requiring 25 from each candidate and 10 from each delegate. With 16 precincts totaling 160 delegates, a $1,600 deposit is needed. Leaders seek a cheaper plan, considering reducing delegates per district or condensing the convention. Some propose nominating a ticket at the convention and letting the ticket run in the regular primary. The Democratic system of free entry may be adopted if needed. The decision is under study by party managers with a likely ruling soon.
